About the Role
Execution and supervision of engineering and planning activities including working closely with code enforcement officer, engineering and planning personnel, and clerical staff.
Management of multiple engineering projects.
Preparation and review of proposed Land Use policies, Zoning Ordinance regulations and Stormwater Management Ordinance provisions.
Occasionally accompany the Director to meetings of the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Infrastructure Committee, Transportation Advisory Committee and other municipal bodies.
Attendance at meetings of other groups as required by the Director of Engineering and Planning include but not limited to municipal, state, or Federal officials as required.
Attendance at staff meetings with Directors
Preparation of construction specifications and contract documents.
Coordination and supervision of design blueprint
Preparation of annual budgets for engineering activities and certain public works activities.
Communication with engineering and legal consultants, developers, suppliers, and officials of other governmental agencies regarding engineering services and issues.
Coordination and review of sanitary sewer project and facilities.
Performance of engineering calculations utilizing established engineering design criteria.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required.
Up to ten (10) years of experience in public works administration or municipal engineering is preferred along with familiarity/experience with typical engineering plans and specifications and municipal regulations.
Professional Engineering license is preferred.
